While one of Bonanza's founding principles is to rely on as few rules as possible to operate, there are certain limits to various functionality in the site that we implement in order to generally try to keep our marketplace as fair as possible for all parties involved, and to ensure that proper formatting is maintained. Here are some of the limits you may encounter at some point.
- Booth item limit: 75,000 items. This limit exists to ensure that Bonanza stays a grassroots marketplace. We don't want to have our inventory dominated by a few major sellers. Sellers who subscribe to our Titan level membership can have a maximum of 100,000 items in their booth as a benefit of their membership.
- Booth favorites: 75 total, 15 per month. A booth is intended to be favorited when it is one of the handful booths you find exceptionally awesome. We use your opinions of favorite booths to give oft-favorited booths more exposure, so we use these limits to discourage trading "favorite" designations, or marking every booth as a "favorite" in hopes that a couple will return the favor. If you happen to hit these limits, you can always unfavorite a booth to make room for a new favorite.
- Automatic booth closure due to inactivity for 6 months. It’s important to log into your Bonanza account regularly to review messages from buyers, received offers and sales. Buyers want to know that you are present and that your booth inventory is current. If the activity on your booth is non-existent for 6 months, we will automatically close your booth. You can always come back and contact us at support@bonanza.com to get started again.
- Prohibited items. Although sellers on Bonanza are welcome to list everything but the ordinary, we do need to have some restrictions in place. Many laws, regulations and policies, in a variety of jurisdictions, regulate the goods and services that may be bought and sold. For your convenience, we have prepared a list of some of the types of prohibited and restricted items which are not currently permitted on Bonanza. We appreciate your cooperation.
- Email limit/spam policy. Bonanza users can only send a certain amount of messages per day. We don't reveal the exact number for security reasons, but here are some guidelines:
- Users that have been registered for longer without having incidents reported can send more messages
- If users appear to be receptive to what you have to say, you'll be able to send more messages
- Generally speaking, if you find yourself hitting the messages per day limit, you might not be using Bonanza mail in the way it is intended (see more information below). Very few users do.

- Sending custom invoices to buyers: can only send 5 unpaid. If you're sending custom invoices to buyers for shipping cost adjustments you can only send up to 5 unpaid invoices. If you're receiving an error when trying to send a custom invoice to a buyer, it's likely because this limit has been reached. Once buyers begin to pay, the error will clear. Any unpaid invoices that remain unpaid will eventually clear off of your Selling Dashboard. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about custom invoicing.
