Sometimes, sellers are inclined to restrict the types of buyers allowed to make purchases from their store. Below we'll briefly describe the options that Bonanza provides to allow sellers to specify their buyer requirements.
All options are specified on the Payments & purchases page. Hover over the Selling link in the upper left corner of any page, click Booth settings, then navigate to the Payments & Purchases section. Be sure to click "Save all of my changes" when you're finished altering your buyer requirements.
Shoppers can have any shipping address
Buyers from any location will be able to checkout at your stated "Buy it Now" listing price. Please note that you must have shipping set for the buyer's location in order for them to checkout immediately. If you do not have shipping set, or if you select "Details are in the item description," the buyer must submit an offer for approval before they can complete checkout. Offers include the item price, shipping, and taxes (if applicable). If you wish to adjust the invoice and add shipping prior to accepting the offer, you must have custom invoicing enabled in your "Seller settings."
Shoppers must have a shipping address in my country of residence
If you check the "Shoppers must have a shipping address in my country of residence" option and the buyer tries to have the item shipped outside your country, they won't be able to buy from you. Note that, unless you have setup international shipping rules, buyers will already be unable to buy items via "Buy it now" if they're outside your country, but they could still propose an offer to you. If this option is checked, they would be unable to propose such an offer as well.
Shoppers must have a shipping address in the country my items ship from
You can specify a "Ships from" address in the "Shipping & returns" section of your booth settings. If left blank, Bonanza will use your contact address to determine your "Ships from" location. If you select this option and the buyer tries to have the item shipped outside of the country your items ship from, they won't be able to buy from you.
Require minimum level of feedback to make an offer
If this options is checked, a buyer will need to have an overall feedback score (positive feedback minus negative feedback) no less than what you specify for them to be able to propose an offer to you.
If you allow buyers to purchase items via "Buy it now," this will not restrict "Buy it now" sales. The reasoning behind this is twofold:
- Items purchased via "Buy it now" won't be taken out of your booth until payment is received for them, so you bear no risk of being subject to a non-paying buyer.
- A vast majority of Bonanza's buyer traffic comes from random buyers on Google, and if a buyer with 0 feedback was unable to buy items on Bonanza, you would lose the vast majority of potential overall buyers (not to mention the negative impression they'd leave with, thinking Bonanza is marketplace that considers buyers "guilty until proven innocent").
Ignore purchases from these users
This gives you the option to select specific users that you choose not to sell to, for whatever reason. When the buyer tries to checkout from your store, they'll be given a message that you're not currently accepting offers. Begin typing the buyer's username in the field and then select it from the auto-populated list to prevent the buyer from purchasing your items. Learn more on the How to block a buyer help page.
